Minor Bantams win Kitchener Blueline AAA Tournament.
The Upper Canada Cyclones Minor Bantam traveled to Kitchener to compete in the Kitchener Blueline AAA Tournament on the weekend of November 26 – 28th.
They started strong and continued to go undefeated only allowing 3 goals against in the round robin. Their victories included; 3-0 over the Grey Bruce Highlanders, 4-2 over the Waterloo Wolves, 7-0 over the West Seneca Wings and 6-1 over the North Central Predators.
The Cyclones then prepared themselves for a tough semi-final against the Eastern Ontario Wild. It was a very exciting game that would end with a 3-0 victory for the Cyclones.
The finals would also be two teams from the OEMHL. The Upper Canada Cyclones would now face the Ottawa 67s for the Gold. This would prove to be a very tough game between two teams that had both gone undefeated until this point. The two teams battled hard and were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time. They prepared for OT and while both teams gave their all, the Upper Canada Cyclones scored the winner to bring home the Gold.
The Cyclones coaching staff, Bruce Johnson (Head Coach) and Jordan Johnson (Assistant Coach), were extremely proud of the boy’s accomplishments this past weekend. The coaching staff feel that their dedication, hard work ethics and teamwork is truly paying off.
