The 2011/12 registration fees will be $3,400 for minor bantam, major bantam and minor midget. Major midget’s player registration will be $2,300. The main reasons for the increase were:
- Increase ice fees
- Increase in tournament fees
- Increase in referee fees
UCC Executive's objective was to maintain a balance between player investment, reducing expenditures where possible, minimizing the total financial impact on families and listening to survey feedback and suggestions. As a result the following actions were taken:
- UCC will continue to invest in player development
- Based on survey feedback we will not be renewing with Peak Performance
- Schedule professional instruction to conduct player development in a central location that is more flexible to each team’s practice and game schedule. This will result in less travel for players and families and reducing travel costs
- Maintain all player development areas (e.g. on-ice, off-ice and goal tending)
- Professional video analyze for the organization is being looked at as a tool to develop hockey knowledge as well this season
- Invest in coaching staff using a fixed fee format. The objective was to attract high quality independent coaching staff to come to UCC versus going to our competitors
- Vendors contracts were renegotiated and reduce to essential items were possible
- Cyclone's mandatory kit included in the registration fees will include:
- Game jerseys
- Socks
- Pant shells
- Tracksuits
- Tryout jerseys
- Hockey bags
- Practice jerseys
- In addition the itemized cost of the items has been renegotiated to a lower price
- UCC has initiated a couple pilot items to provide additional potential savings to the families, including
- Harrow stick program - offering reduce prices for high quality composite hockey sticks to UCC players
- Continued 15% discount to Lacroix Sports for additional hockey equipment purchases
The net with all these adjustments and maintaining a player investment balance was a slight increase in the annual player registration fees. Any questions please feel free to ask Dave Van Stralen or Bill Kalyn.
